Abstract

Communicable diseases surveillance highlights for 1st quarter, 2002 (gastrointestinal disease, vaccine preventable diseases, vectorborne disease, zoonoses, other bacterial infections, LabVISE, other communicable diseases), and surveillance outcomes from several reporting series as follows:
National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System tables, 1 January to 31 March 2002;
Laboratory Serology and Virology Reporting Scheme tables, 1 January to 31 March 2002;
Australian Sentinel Practice Research Network report tables, weeks 1-4 to 9-13, 2002;
Rotavirus surveillance, July to December 2001 (cumulation of year to date);
HIV and AIDS surveillance, reporting period 1 October to 31 December 2001, assessed as at 31 March 2002;
Australian childhood immunisation coverage, 1 October to 31 December 2001 cohort, assessed as at 31 March 2002;
National Enteric Pathogens Surveillance System, reporting period 1 January to 31 March 2002.
