Abstract

Commentary on the outbreak report published in the same issue: This report of an outbreak of gastroenteritis associated with oyster consumption is an important reminder of the risks associated with consumption of raw or undercooked foods of animal origin, and the risks associated with the contamination of oyster harvesting areas with human sewage.
